Residency and Solo Exhibition

The Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts
Ojai, CA Spring 2010

I was invited to participate in a month long residency in Happy Valley—a culturally significant location that was home to writers and thinkers such as Aldous Huxley, Krishnamurti and, the Mama of Dada, contemporary artist Beatrice Wood. The center itself is the former home of the late Beatrice Wood and her dear friend, Rosalind Rojagopal.  I spent the month in the center’s artist quarters working in Wood’s former studio.

The residency culminated is a solo exhibition featuring a time based, site-specific, multimedia installation entitled Body of Time. The work explores the nature of time and the body, and the imposition of manufactured circadian rhythms.
